Abstract

The main economic factors that trigger divorce in Sampit, starting from unemployed husbands, a consumptive lifestyle, and poor financial management that is not in accordance with sharia principles. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of sharia-based financial management as an effort to reduce divorce. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with primary data from interviews with judges, marriage counselors, and couples facing divorce, as well as observations at the Sampit Religious Court. The results of this study are that the principles of sharia-based financial management, which apply the principles of justice, responsibility, transparency, and simple living, have been proven to be able to create family economic stability, reduce conflict, and reduce divorce rates. The application of sharia principles in household economics provides a holistic solution, not only from a material aspect but also spiritually, which aims to improve physical and spiritual well-being. Sharia-based financial management encourages a balanced division of responsibilities between husband and wife, financial priority settings, and avoidance of waste and consumptive debt. As a preventive measure, a family guidance program based on sharia principles needs to be implemented to improve financial literacy and build public awareness of the importance of good financial management in the household.
