EFL Students’ Intentions: Rating Indicators of Moodle in Higher Education Language Learning

The use of technology in the English teaching and learning process is increasingly diverse due to the availability of various digital learning media in the 21st century. Moodle, one of the multi-function Learning Management Systems (LMS) that can provide free access, has become increasingly popular in providing Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to support the instructional process. This study aimed to present EFL undergraduates' perception of Moodle in learning language. It focused on aspects of access, interaction, layout, resources, and student self-reflection. This study used a survey as method in the research. The participants were 60 EFL students from the English Education Department of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sampit. The data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS. The finding showed a positive perception with a score of 3.18. All of the indicators showed an excellent score of above 3.00, with resources aspect recorded the highest mean (x̄ 3.32). It is concluded that Moodle provides easy to access, fast and reliable, self-expression or interaction. Moodle helps students to access classroom resources online, enhancing their learning especially in writing skills.
